Home/Auto/Business/Umbrella
The term “incidental comprehensive” is often used informally to describe comprehensive auto coverage that’s maintained on a vehicle that’s not actively driven—for example, a car that’s in storage or not registered for regular road use.
This coverage protects against non-collision losses like theft, fire, flood, hail, or vandalism, but does not include liability or collision coverage.
If you’re in Louisiana, Mississippi, or Texas, Partners Insurance is here to help.
We’re an independent agency that compares top carriers for home, auto, flood, and more—so you get the best rate without the hassle.
The amount you agree to pay out of pocket when you make a claim for damaged, lost, or stolen personal belongings
How It Works:
Higher Deductible = Lower Premium
You pay more out of pocket if you have a claim, but your monthly or annual cost is lower.Lower Deductible = Higher Premium
You pay less when filing a claim, but your regular premium payments will be higher.
1. Make Sure You’re Safe First
If there’s damage (like a fire, storm, or break-in), make sure everyone is safe.
Call 911 if there’s an emergency.
2. Prevent Further Damage
Take steps to stop the damage from getting worse, like turning off water, boarding up windows, or covering roof holes with a tarp.
Keep receipts if you spend money on temporary repairs.
3. Document Everything
Take photos and videos of all damage and affected items.
Make a list of damaged or stolen belongings, including estimated value and purchase date if possible.
4. Contact Your Insurance Agent or Company
Call your agent (like Partners Insurance) or file directly through the insurance company’s website or app.
Provide:
Your policy number (if you have it)
Date and time of the incident
Description of what happened
Photos, videos, or receipts
5. Meet the Adjuster
The insurance company may send a claims adjuster to inspect the damage.
Be present if possible to walk them through the damage and show your documentation.
6. Get Repair Estimates
You may be asked to get one or more repair estimates.
Some companies may have preferred contractors or options for direct repair programs.
7. Receive Your Claim Payment
Once approved, the insurer will send a check or direct deposit for repairs or replacement (minus your deductible).
8. Keep Track of Repairs
Save all receipts and invoices.
Take photos of the repaired or rebuilt areas.
FAQ
general questions
Chances are, you'll find the answer in our FAQs. Here are some of the more common questions we get asked:
Q: Why do I need insurance?
A: Insurance protects you financially in case of accidents, disasters, or lawsuits. It gives you peace of mind knowing you’re covered when life happens.
Q: How do I know how much coverage I need?
A: We help you assess your risks and assets to recommend coverage that fits your life—not just a one-size-fits-all plan.
Q: Can I bundle different types of insurance?
A: Yes! Bundling home, auto, and other policies can save you money and simplify your coverage.
Auto Insurance
Q: What does full coverage mean?
A: “Full coverage” typically includes liability, collision, and comprehensive. It covers damage to others and your own vehicle.
Q: Will my rate go up after an accident?
A: It depends on the situation. If you’re at fault, your premium may increase. But some carriers offer accident forgiveness.
Q: Do I need insurance if my car is paid off?
A: Yes—state law requires liability coverage at a minimum. You may also want to protect your own vehicle.
Homeowners Insurance
Q: Is flood insurance included in my home policy?
A: No, it must be purchased separately—especially important in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas.
Q: What’s covered under a standard home policy?
A: It usually covers your home structure, personal belongings, liability, and additional living expenses.
Q: How can I lower my home insurance premium?
A: You can raise your deductible, bundle policies, or add protective devices like smoke detectors or alarms.
Flood Insurance
Q: Do I need flood insurance if I’m not in a flood zone?
A: Yes—over 20% of flood claims come from low-to-moderate risk areas.
Q: Is flood damage covered under homeowners insurance?
A: No. You’ll need a separate flood policy to protect against rising water.

Q: How do I file a claim?
A: Call our office or your carrier’s claims number. We’ll walk you through the process step-by-step.
Q: Can I make changes to my policy anytime?
