The term “incidental comprehensive” is often used informally to describe comprehensive auto coverage that’s maintained on a vehicle that’s not actively driven—for example, a car that’s in storage or not registered for regular road use.

This coverage protects against non-collision losses like theft, fire, flood, hail, or vandalism, but does not include liability or collision coverage.

The amount you agree to pay out of pocket when you make a claim for damaged, lost, or stolen personal belongings

How It Works:

  • Higher Deductible = Lower Premium
    You pay more out of pocket if you have a claim, but your monthly or annual cost is lower.

  • Lower Deductible = Higher Premium
    You pay less when filing a claim, but your regular premium payments will be higher.

1. Make Sure You’re Safe First

  • Call 911 if there’s an emergency.


2. Prevent Further Damage

  • Take steps to stop the damage from getting worse, like turning off water, boarding up windows, or covering roof holes with a tarp.

  • Keep receipts if you spend money on temporary repairs.


3. Document Everything

  • Take photos and videos of all damage and affected items.

  • Make a list of damaged or stolen belongings, including estimated value and purchase date if possible.


4. Contact Your Insurance Agent or Company

  • Call your agent (like Partners Insurance) or file directly through the insurance company’s website or app.

  • Provide:

    • Your policy number (if you have it)

    • Date and time of the incident

    • Description of what happened

    • Photos, videos, or receipts


5. Meet the Adjuster
